Superleague Formula

Happy new year to all SF fans from everyone at ‘the beautiful race’… This is the year that sees the first season of Superleague Formula and, from now on, we are going to be very busy indeed so fasten your seatbelts!

Next week, we go to the Estádio do Dragão to reveal the FC Porto car to the fans, we visit the Autosport International show in Birmingham, UK and we have new club announcements pending (once contracts have been signed)…

Just before Christmas, however, Robin and new commercial manager, Antonio Alquezar, visited the Emirates following an invitation to a well known Middle East Football and sporting club to see the facilities of the club and to discuss their potential participation in SF.

Robin and Toni were guests of honour at league handball match (the result of which managed to maintain the club’s position in the top three of the league).

“We enjoyed the visit very much,” said Toni. “Their kindness, generosity and hospitality was overwhelming. They have an enormous desire to further their sporting recognition and participation in the region, with existing (or planned) race circuits in Dubai, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi… The whole region, in fact, is gearing up for motorsport!

“If you combine that with the existing football fever that’s already in the region, then it’s obvious that Superleague Formula can expect the presence of a well known football club. Hopefully we can announce something very soon.”
