    News update

Posted by Mike on 24 March, 2008

Happy Easter everyone… Our events manager Martin was in Glasgow for the Rangers announcement last week, where he saw the draw against Partick Thistle (1-1) in the Scottish Cup. He said it was also an atmosphere to savour with 30,000 fans cheering the ‘Gers on.

He also had meetings with the club about the proper launch which, although dependent on match days, will hopefully take place sometime next month.

Meanwhile, Alex and Robin attended a race team meeting in Milan last week. It was an all-day meeting where the 12 race teams there discussed a huge range of subjects from hospitality and race format, to qualifying and technical issues. Also, there was incredible feedback about the prototype – they all loved it and are looking forward to getting their hands on the real thing… soon!

Finally, the Ops department were at Estoril checking out all the facilities at the circuit, whilst another SF team were at an un-named destination, discussing the club launch (the club’s name is still under wraps but we can reveal that it is somewhere hot and dusty).

The trip was a bit of a nightmare, with flights being booked at the last minute and then, to top it all off, a key member of the team was delayed by seven hours which basically meant she would miss the meeting. All fun and games but we managed to get her there in the end…

      Hi,

When will we be able to see the Rangers race car? I must say it looks really beautiful.

As for the Rangers vs Partick Thistle game, that wasn’t the best match to go to. Martin, try an Old Firm or European match to see what real passion is.

Anyway, great idea guys but if I can give you a tip, you must keep the Rangers fans (and other supporters) involved and publicity high. If the supporters know that it benefits the club financially they will support it. If it’s just a name they may not.

      John
