    Two in Two for FC Basel

    Here are some images of the FC Basel players last weekend, collecting the Swiss Cup for the second year in succession after beating lower league AC Bellinzona 4-1.

    Held in their home stadium of St. Jakob-Park (where UEFA Euro 2008™ will kick off in June), the sides had been level at 1-1 with less than half an hour remaining after Basel’s Eren Derdiyok had opened the scoring in the first half. In the end, however, Christian Gross’ side came out on top, thanks to three strikes in four minutes from Daniel Majstorovic, Marco Streller and Benjamin Huggel, just after the 60-minute mark.

    The Swiss participants in Superleague Formula are now on course for a domestic double, and their win ensures UEFA Cup football for FC Basel 1893 next season!
